The Future Of Robotics - Seen By Roboticists Video: ECHORD++

At Automatica trade fair 2014 in Munich the team of the EU-funded robotics project ECHORD++ asked the visitors of their booth one simple question: “What do you think is the future of robotics?”

Well-known roboticists like Vijay Kumar from the University of Pennsylvania or Uwe Haass from euRobotics shared their thoughts with the ECHORD++ team which put together all statements to a short YouTube video.

With this video the ECHORD++ team wants to give a brief view of what the future developments in robotics will be like. As nearly all of the interviewed roboticists supposed that the future of robotics will be “bright” (Vijay Kumar) or “brilliant” (Pere Homs) or that “robots will be quite a normal part of our everyday life” (Christian Schlegel), one can assume that roboticists have a very positive view on their subject.

Project ECHORD++

The aim of ECHORD++ is to strengthen the knowledge transfer between scientific research and industry in robotics and to stimulate their cooperation.

ECHORD++ is a joint project of Technische Universität München (project coordinator), Blue Ocean Robotics, Bristol Robotics Laboratory, Commissariat à lÉnergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives, Scuola Superiore SantAnna, R.U.Robotics and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
