  • Asimo is a humanoid robot created by Honda. Standing at 4 feet 3 inches and weighing 119 pounds, Asimo can walk at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour. It sports topnotch flexibility with its 26 degrees of freedom.

The Japanese humanoid robot can recognize moving objects and individuals, and follow them using its high-resolution camera mounted on its head. Asimo can also detect and greet approaching individuals, respond to handshakes and waves, and recognize the pointing of directions and other common human gestures.

Asimo is equipped with safer features intended for itself and surrounding people. It’s capable of avoiding threats and obstacles like stairs, chairs, and moving individuals. Asimo is also capable of recognizing verbal commands and stimuli, making it responsive even to a sound created by a falling object or collision by turning its head towards the source.

Asimo can astoundingly recognize its name when called, identify 10 different faces and accurately address them by their personal names. It can be controlled through a workstation or via a remote control system. Asimo is the most advanced humanoid robot as of today.
