  • FR-I is a biped humanoid robot developed by Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). FR-I is a facial expression bot that is capable of conveying a wide array of expressions.

    The robot is equipped with eyes, eyebrows, and lips which are all capable of movement. The eyes are designed to fix its stare on the nearby individual. FR-I can detect facial expressions and mimic them as well.

    Features:

    • Equipped with movable eyes, eyebrows and mouth, allowing the robot to project different emotions
    • High-resolution cameras placed inside the eyes that have facial expression detection and localization features
    • Capable of copying facial expression from a nearby individual
