Tomy Company of Japan released a new bipedal humanoid robot called the I-SOBOT Omnibot 17?. It is also the world’s smallest humanoid robot. It can fit in the palm of your hand, with only a height of 16.5cm and weight of around 350gm.
It has 17 moving joints and is equipped with custom servomotors. It also has gyro-sensors to maintain its balance automatically, and has infrared (IR) remote-control unit.
I-SOBOT has 4 modes of action - the Remote Control Mode, where the robot is controlled by a joystick wirelessly; the Programming Mode, where the user can choose from 182 available command actions; the Special Action Mode, where 18 complex pre-programmed actions are included; and the Voice Control Mode, where the robot can respond to 1 of the 10 commands given by the user.
