RoboErectus Jr
RoboErectus Junior, created by Singapore Polytechnic, is a soccer-playing child-like robot. It won second place in the 2002 RoboCup competition for humanoid walking and took first place in penalty kick and free performance. This winner has three separate processors and three sensors to detect and adapt to its environment. It has the ability to capture images, detect falls, and be self-aware of its direction. Singapore Polytechnic’s vision was to develop an inexpensive humanoid platform for use in research and education.
