Sony launched the SDR-4X in March 2002, two years after it revealed SDR-3X in 2000. SDR or Sony Dream Robot has 24 synchronized joints that allow it to do simple and basic motions and movements like walking and changing its course. It is also capable of getting up by itself, balancing on one leg, kicking a ball, and can entertain by dancing, just like its predecessor.
What make this robot far more advanced than its predecessor SDR-3X, are its improved mechanics and enhanced circuits. Additionally, the SDR-4X has a stylish exterior, and image and sound recognition capabilities. It can recognize different faces through its coloured camera and can recognize different sounds.
