Silo4 is a four-legged walking robot created by Spain’s Instituto de Automatica Industrial-CSIC in 1999. This quadruped robot was built for the main purpose of research and development.

Silo4 has already proven its efficiency in various researches focused on motion generation, terrain adaptation, and stability.  Similarly, the robot was projected to exhibit similar levels of success with regards to artificial intelligence, perception integration, and tele-operation. Hence, this quadruped robot can also be used as a platform for developing educational and telepresence robots.

To substantiate the demands for the construction of the robot for use in various research and studies, the creators proudly offer through a book the complete process on how SILO4 can be constructed.
