Alliander is a network company that was formed by Liander, Endinet and Liandon. These three firms together are planning to innovate for the Dutch energy network. Together they provide electricity to over three million clients. The goal of this group of companies is to make the full switch to long-lasting energy sources.
Together with other Dutch energy providing companies such as Enexis and Cogas, Alliander has invested in the autonomous pipeline checking robots of the robotics project Pirate. This project led by the Technical University of Twente, Demcon and Kiwa has developed prototypes that can autonomously check the inside of pipelines for leaks or deformations that might lead to leaks.
