PROFILE

  • Founded in September 2011, the Arab Robotics Association, or ARA, aims at promoting robotics research in the Arab world.

The decision to create the association was made during the meeting of robotics specialists and delegates from different Arab countries in Amman - Jordan. It was officially registered under its current name in 2012.

One of the major goals of the Arab Robotics Association is to raise awareness about the culture as well as science of robotics among Arab youth. In addition to establishing robotics clubs in the Arab countries, the Arab Robotics Association organizes robotics competitions as well as championships in the different Arab countries.

For the purpose of establishing scientific associations between the Union members, ARA promotes the exchange of scientific research among its members and aims at raising awareness about technological and scientific developments in the Arab society.

The Arab Robotics Association is committed to establishing a network of Arab as well as international agencies working in robotics for encouraging cooperation, contact and exchange of experiences.

Apart from facilitating contacts as well as robotics meetings between the Arab nations, ARA conducts research, studies, training sessions, meetings, festivals and specialized conferences. As part of its training and development efforts, ARA prepares books and scientific publications for those interested in the field of robotics.

The ARA also publicizes its activities in both national and international media. In addition to organizing the Arab Open Annual Robot Competition, the association encourages the Arab robot teams to take part in competitions.
