PROFILE

  • CMP or theCenter for Machine Perception serves as a major research center at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Associated with the university’s Department of Cybernetics, CMP aims atconducting fundamental and applied research programs in computer vision, robotics, mathematics, machine learning as well as pattern recognition.

    Supervised by Professor Vaclav Hlavac, the research center has around fifteen staff members along with fifteen doctoral students. Moreover, theCenter for Machine Perception is associated with the Miracle Center of Excellence as well as the national Centre of Applied Cybernetics. In addition to participating in many national and EU-funded projects, CMP has collaborated with the spin-off company, Neovision s.r.o., to develop advanced computer vision applications.

    The Center for Machine Perception particularly specializes in computer vision, pattern recognition as well as machine learning. This involves the calibration of multi-camera optical systems along with stereo reconstruction, omnidirectional as well as panoramic cameras based on lenses and mirrors, image matching as well as object recognition in the specific images.
