GPS is a German based company that was founded by the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation. The goals of this company are to further develop solutions for manufacturing and automation technology and to develop new products in robotics. GPS works together with a couple of research centers to keep innovating. At the moment, they are working on five different projects, one of which is the robotics project BRICS.
This is a project that does not focus on designing or developing a new system or robot, but it aims at introducing a more structured and formalized way of how a robot development process works. The objectives of GPS include the development of strategies for the release of new products into the markets and the transfer of technology.
