The Maastricht University (UM) is the most internationalized university in the Netherlands. Because of its placement in the country, close to Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, the focus of the university is very international. The UM is actively participating in the regional robotics project called McArm. Funded by the regio and working together with tech-companies and other educational institutes, project McArm was started to develop motion controlled arm support. The McArm will provide extra support to the user’s weak arm. Sensors on the arm attached to the system will sense the intended motion. Not only does this help people with their daily activities, but it will also improve long term rehabilitation effort.
