PROFILE

  • The Japan Robot Association (JARA) is a trade association, consisting of Japanese companies that manufacture and develop robot technology.

The JARA was originally founded as the Industrial Robot Conversazione in 1971. In 1972, JARA was renamed as JIRA (Japan Industrial Robot Association), which was then officially incorporated in the year 1973. In 1994, the association was renamed again as JARA.

Headquartered in Tokyo, the Japan Robot Association strives to promote the use of robotics in society and industry. The JARA encourages development and research on robots as well as robotics related technology.

Each year, the JARA organizes the Jisso Process Technology Exhibition and every two years the International Robot Exhibition.

The Japan Robot Association also participates in various promotional activities including survey and research reports, press releases, robot industry journals, and a website. In addition, the JARA stages the Electronic Manufacturing Process Technology Exhibition and the International Robot Exhibition or IREX.

JARA is a member of the IFR (International Federation of Robotics), and  robot manufacturers in Japan.
