The main goal of M2Control is to optimize control systems for new and existing machines. The idea behind this is to create a performance enhancement by making only minimal adaption to the equipment. For existing machines, the process starts by testing the current performance and analyzing the points where potential improvement can be made. If testing shows that an increase in performance is actually possible in theory, a prototype is created to find out if it works.
M2Control uses different software platforms like PLC, Scada and PC, and embedded systems to check which is the most suitable for the situation and provides the most advantages for the client. An improvement in a machine in a production process can lead to the improvement of the end product. M2Control also cooperates with several Dutch Universities and their robotics research centers to develop new systems and methods.
One of the projects that M2Control is working on is the McArm project. This project aims to develop a smart dynamic arm support system to help people with limited motor function in their arm. The innovative feature of the arm is that it uses a smart system, which will automatically reconfigure to keep challenging the patient.
