  • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, popularly known as the MIT, is one of the most notable research universities not only in the United States of America but in the entire world. Founded in 1861, but officially opened four years later, MIT is a bastion for education, especially in the field of physical sciences and engineering.

    Today, MIT is composed of various academic departments that are geared towards scientific, engineering, and technological education and research. Catering to more than 10,000 students, MIT has five schools and a college with a total of 32 departments. This American institute is an excellent venue to learn about robotics and its application.

    The Field and Space Robotics Laboratory under the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Personal Robots Group, and the Biomometic Robotics are just among the various laboratories, research centers and facilities that the MIT is equipped with.

    The MIT Junior Cheetah, which is a robotic quadruped, the stickbot, and Mertz are some of the robots that were developed inside the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
