PROFILE

  • Based in the Netherlands, NLR is a well-known aerospace knowledge enterprise. The enterprise addresses questions like how fuel-efficiency and safety can be added as valuable tools to aircrafts. How satellites can be made to maintain a constant temperature while functioning efficiently. With over 650 employees working actively to create new technologies, NLR combines different disciplines like aircraft and electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, information science as well as psychology. They use high-tech facilities including wind tunnels, interconnected aircraft along with air- tower simulators. The enterprise aims at targeting the whole aircraft’s lifecycle: from research, through design, servicing as well as conservation to modernization. In fact, a major goal of NLR is enhancing the security, sustainability as well as efficiency of air transport.
