The NTS Group is a system supplier in the high tech sector that designs, develop and produces opto-mechatronic systems (OEMs), modules and components to speed up the production process. By offering specialized components of production, the NTS Group can accelerate the innovation process, lower the break-even point, simplify the organizational structure and reduce costs.
The NTS Group is mainly operational in high mix, low volume, high complexity markets, such as the semiconductor sector and the analytical industry. It is currently involved in a robotics project in the healthcare sector. Together with multiple consultancy firms, other technological producers and suppliers as well as the Technical University of Eindhoven, the NTS Group is making its contribution to Project Rose. The goal of Project Rose is to build a TSR or Teleoperated Service Robot.
This robot will be developed for the healthcare sector to reduce the load of human caretakers. Rose robots will work in the homes of elderly or disabled people to help with the various daily activities of the patient. These robots will be checked and controlled by an operator in the short run, but it is anticipated that the robots will function quite autonomously over time.
