Founded in 1948, Roessingh is a rehabilitation center that specializes in rehabilitation expert care and treatment. Performing all types of rehabilitations for children and adults, Roessingh is also involved in projects that require researching new kinds of methods and equipments to improve rehabilitation.
Roessingh has a special research and development department that is involved in the projects MIAD, ROBAR and VirtuRob. All of these projects are ways of discovering how robotics can influence the medical world, and in this case, rehabilitation.
Project VirtuRob, for example, takes the knowledge of virtual reality and combines it with a special robotic training system. This combined system will make it easier for patients to rehabilitate in the comfort of their own homes, which will ultimately motivate them to work harder.
