STW aims at supporting technical sciences through scientific and technical research. A major goal of the foundation is to transfer knowledge between science and engineering users. From Alfa Sciences to Zoology, STW finances research in a variety of fields. STW is also investing in the medical field while participating in projects like IMDI and ReflexLeg.
ReflexLeg is a project that aims at exploring the possibilities of improving the way prosthetic legs make a natural connection with the human body and the neural system. By attaching high tech sensors, signals can be picked up to make the prosthetic leg function more naturally. On the other hand, Project IMDI is a Dutch project that aims at improving the Dutch knowledge infrastructure associated with medical services.
