SHERPA strives to develop a mixed ground as well as an aerial robotic platform that will help support rescue and search activities in a hostile real-world environment such as the alpine scenario.
The LIRMM developed a biologically inspired robot called Sherpa. This robot has human like capabilities, can interact with environment and is designed to carry heavy loads.
