  • TUlip is the soccer robot designed and developed by the Dutch Robotics team and will be used during the robot soccer games of RoboCup. Dutch Robotics is a partnership between three major Dutch Universities and their sponsors. This robot is 1.20 meters tall and can walk with a speed of half a meter per second and can operate for 30 minutes.

TUlip is specifically designed to be great at playing soccer. It has, for example, two cameras as its eyes, so it can keep a focus on the ball at all times. Furthermore, the body is made from aluminum and covered with special body armor, which makes TUlip both lightweight and tough.

TUlip can function fully autonomously due to its interior processor, and it has special sensors in its feet to make it stand and walk robustly. The legs of this two-legged humanoid robot are fully developed to closely mimic the human walking pattern. This is possible because of a total of 14 degrees of freedom in the body of the soccer robot.
