Amid Japan’s amazing robots is an advertising robot called An9-PR, which was developed by ALSOK.  It stands 160cm tall and weighs 200 kilograms. It’s the newer version of An9-RR, which was introduced in March 2009. The developer aims to sell the ultra-cute and friendly robot for a price of $150,000. It sounds like a lot of money, but An9-PR robot offers multiple benefits that a company would love to have.

An9-PR is a 4-wheeled, battery-powered robot equipped with a face recognition-enabled camera and Wi-Fi, so it can do essential surveillance tasks for buildings and shopping malls.  An9-PR robot also has an electric board in its head, a 19-inch screen in its front, and (2) 12-inch screens in its back for advertisement purposes.  With these features, shoppers in a mall, or visitors in a building, can easily view advertisements, information and important things they need to know or see.

Additionally, An9-PR robot is geared with smart card reader/writer and infrared in its hands.  It can send coupons and information to mobile phones and is capable of live remote video and audio broadcast, making An9-PR robot a top-notch tele-presence robot.
