The security company, ALSOK, has developed a robot guard called An9-RR that is capable of providing 24-hour surveillance monitoring. This amazing robot stands 76.5 millimeters and weighs 35 kilograms. It has large cameras capable of face recognition and a microphone for sound detection.
An9-RR can also be used as a guide and holds a screen that can be used as an announcement board or can be utilized as a map display to provide directions within a specific facility.
With its LED eyes able of showing a multitude of expressions, An9-RR can offer greetings or bid goodbyes to employees and visitors. In urgent situations, this security robot is programmed to automatically inform human security guards through email containing surveillance pictures.
ALSOK has also made smaller versions of these androids that stand at only 26 millimeters and weighs 7 kilograms. These versions are portable and can be moved anywhere necessary. Unlike the larger An9-RR robot, they are solely designed for security surveillance purposes only.
