  • ARMAR III was developed by PACO+ Project at Karlsruhe in Germany in 2006. The upgraded humanoid robot was developed to mimic the human sensory ability and attain the sensorimotor function of the human body. ARMAR III is capable of dealing with household objects, wide array of activities, and the general environment. ARMAR III has a lightweight upper body with similar proportion and size of an average human.

    • Improved visual capability with its 2 cameras in each of its eyes capable of wide-angle and narrow-angle view, coupled with 4X Degrees of Freedom of its neck and 3X DOB of its eyes
    • Improved sound sensitivity with its 6 microphones placed in its body
    • Improved velocity, orientation and gravitational force using its 6D inertial sensor
    • Excellent 3D grasping capabilities using 2D grasp techniques
    • Efficient locomotion with its holonomic movable platform
