  • Imagine a night out with your friends in your favorite bar, and a bartending robot serves your usual ice cold beer. Wouldn’t that be nice? Well, since 2008, a scene like this is reality, especially in Japan when Mr. Asahi, the bartender robot created for Asahi beer makers, started its bar tour. Since then, word of how cool this robot was spread to other parts of the world and made its debut in Selfridges in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Asahi, or the Asahi bartender robot, is loved by beer aficionados worldwide  because it serves beer faster than a human bartender. Being a humanoid robot, it never gets tired of pouring beer into glasses for customers, so more clients become satisfied in just a short span of time.

Unlike human bartenders who sometimes irritate clients with their attitudes and bad jokes, the Asahi bartender robot pleases beer drinkers as it serves a pint of brew in less than two minutes. This is faster than an average human bartender who serves the same amount in 13 minutes. That’s a lot of time saved to do other things, such as flirting with the girl at the next table!

The Asahi bartender robot is regarded as the world first robotic bartender. It took eight engineers and 200 hours of work to assemble this robot.
