  • MechaTrax, a Japanese company, released its so-called electric boogie robot named Ashigaru. It is an entertainment robot that is very reminiscent of the street dancers of the 70s and 80s who battled each other with their popping and locking dance moves.

Ashigaru, the dancing robot, is capable of dancing with very similar moves. The dancing humanoid robot is able to flex its body and perform locking in its arms and head. There are several Internet videos showing the dancing skills of the electric boogie dancing robot when it appeared at Breakin’ Convention 2010, along with the Dannish popping sensations, Big City Brains.

Before starting its performance, Ashigaru showed the audience its speech synthesis ability when it conveyed the message of MechaTrax’ CEO, Mr. Soichi Nagasato.

    Features:

    • Able to perform popping and locking dance moves
    • Synchronized moves with music
    • Flexible mechanical body
    • Speech synthesis
