  • ATOM 7xp, created by Dan Mathias, is the first humanoid robot built in the USA. Its name stands for “Advanced Technology for Optimizing Motion.” Standing 157 centimeters tall and weighing 72 kilograms, this full-sized walking robot is the main part of the “ATOM-7xp Advanced Humanoid Robot Project,” an 8-year classified project of Futurebots labs.

    Futurebots’s ATOM 7xp is a part of the company’s goal to provide support for health care, industrial and commercial needs, and outer-space research missions. 

    Features:  

    • Stable bipedal stance with built-in gyroscope
    • Accelerometers
    • Stereo vision Intel 330 processors and Microsoft 7 – XP C++ artificial intelligence
    • Microchip and Atmel CPU Flexibility with 49 Degrees of Freedom: 10 on head, 7 on each leg, 6 on each arm, 5 on each hand, and 3 on torso
    • Telepresence capability with voice-command recognition and visual processing
    • Grasping capabilities with fingers
    • Blinking eyes and LCD mouth
