  • The Institute of Intelligent Robotics of the Beijing Institute of Technology, together with the China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation, developed a humanoid robot called BHR 3. This robot is one of China’s few full sized humanoid robots and has a different exoskeleton compared to other Chinese robots.

BHR 3 resembles more like its predecessor, the BHR 2. It stands at 170 cm and weighs 60 kilograms. This robot can also perform Tai-Chi stunts.  And just like the BHR 2, this humanoid robot can perform various tasks without the help of any cable. It can do pre-programmed routines and some basic movements like walking forward, backward, walking on sideways, and the likes.

Additionally, BHR 3 has 28 Degrees of Freedom or DOF, and just like its predecessor, this Chinese bipedal robot runs on RT-Linux software. Currently this Chinese humanoid robot is being rented or sold as a high tech promotional device for display at museums, exhibits, tech shows or at any robot related affairs.

Although this robot or its technology still trails behind that of ASIMO, BIT and other Chinese humanoid robot companies are trying hard to catch up with the world’s best. With the advancement of the BHR 3 humanoid robot, it is not a dream for China to be a leader in the world of robotics.

    BHR-3 Features:

    • Exoskeleton
    • 28 DOF robot
    • Can perform Tai Chi
    • Bipedal robot
    • Force and torque sensors
    • Gyrosensors
    • Vision and sound recognition
