Butler Robot
In 2010, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology released 20 robot prototypes, including a humanoid they aptly called the Butler Robot.
Butler Robot, as the name implies, is a service robot that can perform simple household tasks. Enabled by location mapping, it can easily remember the locations of various household appliances, such as the microwave and refrigerator. The Butler Robot can also carry a service tray or a canned soft drink in its claw-like hands.
The designers and creators at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology aimed to have Butler Robot as a primary kitchen/household robot able to assist homeowners in the performance of various kitchen tasks involving simple handling and gripping.
