Space robots and robotic devices are used to aid, augment or substitute for human astronauts doing difficult, dangerous or repetitive tasks during space travel.

These might include repairs in hazardous environments, such as those with radiation or micro-meteorite risks, or more routine procedures like video capture or diagnostic chores.
