  • Yujin Robot of South Korea succeeded in creating a bionic barista robot, which it named Cafero. This service robot comes with high possibilities of replacing human waiters and servers in cafes throughout Korea and all over the world.

Cafero made its debut in 2008 via Robot World held at Seoul. The robot fulfilled orders that were queued through its touch screen. A human operator assists the robot in accomplishing the tasks; however, it is predicted that in the near future, improvements on the robot’s system software will eliminate the need for human assistance and will lead to full automation of coffee-making and coffee-serving tasks.

    Features of Cafero:

    • Touch screen interface
    • Tray-friendly arms
    • Wheeled locomotion
