As a product of the collaborative efforts of the United Kingdom’s Glasgow University and Japan’s ATR Cyberhuman Project, DB is an amazing humanoid that greatly possesses tai chi skills. The project also had efforts from the ERATO Kawato Dynamic Brain Project.

Aside from being taught tai chi skills, DB has a lot to learn by imitating movements. Since it was subjected to numerous tests, it also shown great precision in mimicking human actions. For instance, it danced, swung a tennis racket, punched, juggled, and tumbled in a box.

Through physical interaction with a human, DB paddled, caught a ball, joined in on a drum performance, and played a yoyo and slinky. The wide range of actions that this learning robot shown is proof that in the near future DB, and robots like it, can make the lives of humans more comfortable by delegating tasks to them.
