  • E5 is a biped humanoid robot developed by Honda in 1992. Just like the other Honda E series robots, E5 is a prototype, created for experimental purposes only.

    Weighing 150 kilograms and standing at 170 centimeters, E5 can walk autonomously despite its bulky head. The humanoid robot also offers walking flexibility with its 12 degrees of freedom in both legs. E5 walks at a speed of 4.7 kilometers per hour.

    Features:

    • Autonomous walking despite its large head
    • 12 degrees of freedom - 3 for each groin, 1 for each knee, and 2 for each ankle
    • Thigh-like legs that denote stability and flexibility
    • Autonomous stride at a speed of  4.7 km/hour
