  • E6 is a biped humanoid robot developed by Honda in 1993. E6 robot is the last robot on Honda’s prototype E Series humanoid robot.  The developers of E6 robot were successful in creating a humanoid robot capable of autonomous balancing while climbing stairs up and down.

E6 robot is also capable of walking over slopes or obstacles, instead of circumnavigating them. Honda developers came up with 3 posture maneuvers important for walking with stability: Floor Reaction Control, Target ZMP Control, and Foot Planting Location Control.

After E6 robot, Honda started another robotic endeavor – to develop an advanced upper torso to be attached to the legs.

     Features:

    • Flexible walking with its 12 degrees of freedom - 3 for each groin, 1 for each knee, and 2 for each ankle
    • Uses Honda’s Floor Reaction Control, Target ZMP Control, and Foot Planting Location Control for stable walking
    • Walk over obstacles and slopes without difficulty
    • Autonomously balances itself throughout its walking process
