EMIEW is a humanoid robot developed by HITACHI that is designed to assist individuals in their daily activities. EMIEW stands for ‘Excellent Mobility and Interactive Existence as Workmate’.
It is a part of the ‘Project for the Practical Application of Next-Generation Robot’, and has a goal of developing advanced robots in the near future that can interact and coexist with humans.
Standing at 130 centimeters and weighing 70 kilograms, EMIEW robot runs flexibly on a two-wheeled platform with integrated obstacle sensors that allow easy place-to-place movement, even on narrow spaces.
EMIEW can also engage in interesting dialogs while in motion, and doesn’t need a microphone to process sound from a meter-away source.
