Back in the early 80's, Heath Company created a robot that was great at learning the components, circuitry and artificial intelligence of other robots. This robot was called the Heathkit Educational Robot or HERO-1 for short.

The HERO-1 is an ideal teaching tool and a completely self-contained robot that can even interact with its owner and its surroundings. It is also a unique and exceptional robot lab, which can be used as a prototype and as an experiment.

Aside from its intelligence, this robot is equipped with sensing capabilities, sensing sound, light and movements as well as obstacles. It can follow a pre-determined path, and using its onboard light, sound and motion detectors, it can “see” and “hear’ things.

The head of the HERO-1 robot is capable of rotating up to 350 degrees. Seven stepper motors control all its motions and a front-wheel DC motor drives and steers this teaching robot with great maneuverability.

    Features:

    • Light and Sound Sensors
    • Motion and Range Detectors
    • Speech Synthesizers
    • Real Time clock
    • LED Monitor
    • 6808 microprocessor
    • DC Motor
