Shanghai Grandar Robotics created the Home Education Robot as part of the Grandar Cup which started in 2000. Named Baby, this home educational robot is a humanoid robot that stands at 60cm and weighs 15kg, and moves on wheels at speeds up to 1 meter per second.
It has 4 DOFs - 2 in each arm and 2 in each neck. It is also equipped with a camera for facial and speech recognition, as well as for obstacle detection. As the name suggests, this robot displays educational contents on its touchscreen chest.
