An Italian robotic firm, RoboTech SRL, has created a programmable humanoid robot intended for educational and entertainment purposes. This humanoid is called the I-Droid robot, and it has 8 Degrees of Freedom.
The I-Droid robot is capable of detecting the direction of sounds, can avoid obstacles, and has image processing and visual recognition capabilities. Additionally, this programmable droid can show and display various emotions. The Italian company has installed a neural network based software control system on the I-Droid that allows it to express various moods. It can also be controlled remotely using a mobile phone or through a computer via Bluetooth technology.
The I-Droid is so advanced that it can follow voice commands through its synthesis and speech recognition capabilities. If its owners wish, they can reprogram this robot.
