  • In 1994, JSK Laboratories of the University of Tokyo developed and created a remote brained robot called Igoid. This full-bodied humanoid robot stands at 68cm, is 36.5 wide, weighs 6.6kg, and has 35 Degrees Of Freedom.

The Japanese company that developed Igoid used this humanoid with its tactile sensor as a means to research sensor-based reactive behaviors when touched like making sounds, tracking moving things, and sensing itself.

True enough, the Igoid can react when touched and look at the direction where the sound originated. It can catch an object with full body motion, and with its torque data, Igoid can catch a box using its wrist.

    • CCD Camera
    • Stereo Viewer
