Ii-1 is a humanoid communication robot developed by Professor Hirotaka Nakayama along with his students at Konan University Faculty of Intelligence and Informatics in 2009. It was built to demonstrate the school’s researches during prospective students’ open campus time.
It stands 100cm tall and weighs 40kg, with a curvaceous body design fabricated in ABS epoxy. It is equipped with software that enables it to perform question and answer tasks using natural language. It can also answer questions through an internet database.
Ii-1 is equipped with an organic EL display, and high-performance speakers. Microphones are also being installed for directing instructions.
