  • Experienced robot designer Naoko Hikima made a robot that resembles a toy bear. This robot, called Kumataro, has a unique and cute personality.

In Japan, Kuma means bear. Thus, this robot is a Bear Toy. At first, this robot was a stock KHR-2HV but Hikima modified it, turning it into a piece of work.

Hikima added more torque and upgraded all the servos of Kumataro from its original to KRS-2350. The frame and brackets of this robot were also redesigned and were even re-fabricated in order to have room for the new servos, which have totally different physical dimensions.

Lovable it may seem, this robot still weighs 2.5 kilograms and stands at 43cm, excluding the umbrella.

    Kumataro Features:

    • KRS-2350 servo
    • Microphones, speakers and cameras
    • 2.5kg and 43cm tall
