  • The Technical University of Darmstadt under the lead of Oskar Von Stryk created LARA. This humanoid robot has innovative metal alloy muscles and advanced foot technology. Its German developer said that the name suggests eternal unsatisfied love, which they got from the book and movie entitled “Dr.Schiwago” or “Dr. Shivago”.

The LARA robot is equipped with 38 artificial muscles, which give it six degrees of freedom for movement. Additionally, this humanoid is easy to control, and can even recognize language and respond based on the current condition.

The robot is also equipped with 34 Nitinol shaped memory-alloy wire-bundled actuators, which support its degrees of freedom. This 130cm tall robot can also take out an idea in a sentence and then convert it into a Meta-grammar.

    LARA Features:

    • Equipped with Pegasus program
    • Metal alloy muscles
    • Foot technology
    • Shape memory wire bundles
    • Cameras, speakers and microphones
