  • Lea serves as a home service robot, which is not only effective but affordable as well. Boasting 4 degrees of freedom arm, Lea is also equipped with 2 degrees of freedom neck.

Designed and developed at the Delft BioRobotics Lab Lea shares several similarities with the robot Robby. In addition to having an identical platform to Robby, Lea also has a similar sensor. Just like the robot Robby, Lea is capable of performing a variety of tasks, combining high-tech speech recognition, person tracking, object recognition as well as autonomous navigation.

The Delft Robotics team aims at developing cost-effective personal robots that can serve useful purposes in care or domestic environment. The robot Lea is also part of the Delft Robotics team. It is expected that the team will take part in the RoboCup@Home competition with the robot Lea. The competition will be held in Brazil 2014.
