About robots, robot development
and those who make it happen
  • The Imperial College of London has created a humanoid upper torso robot, which they aptly call the LUDWIG robot. This two-armed humanoid robot was constructed in the college’s engineering laboratory.

LUDWIG is bench mounted with two arms, with each arm having 3 degrees of freedom or DOF. The LUDWIG robot also has a single stereoscopic Videre camera attached to its pan and tilt unit which is controlled by a computer.

This upper torso humanoid robot is the center of the college’s research for human-robot and machine-machine imitation.

    LUDWIG Features:

    • Stereoscopic camera
    • Directed perception unit
    • Wireless Ethernet LAN
    • HP Dual Itanium 2 Processor
