  • Mahru is a cute humanoid robot developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). This advanced bipedal humanoid can mimic a person’s movements in real time through a motion capture suit worn by a human operator. 

    Mahru’s programming uses two approaches: a traditional optical motion-capture system to track the body movements, and a wearable inertial motion-capture suit.  The body movements are recorded, and then programmed for reproduction. In order to produce accurate and controlled motion, Mahru is equipped with compliant control and force-torque sensors.
