The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Samsung Electronics developed another bipedal humanoid robot: the Mahru III. Serving as a prototype robot for future household companions, Mahru III stands at 150 centimeters and weighs 62 kilograms.

Mahru III can do some basic movements, such as walking up stairs, walking on two legs, avoiding obstacles on the floor, and many different clean tricks. It is equipped with Computer Aided Engineering analysis, a mechanical system to achieve high stiffness and high energy efficiency, and is lightweight as well.

It is installed with an electrical/electronic system for future network-based applications. Mahru III is battery-operated with a continuous life of 30 minutes, and has a walking speed of 1.3 kilometers per hour.
