  • Japanese robotics company, Little Island Custom Robot Dolls, created a robot that has the appearance of its owner by making a carbon copy. This robot is aptly called the Mini-Me robot.

This small Japanese robot is actually a computer that runs on a 500 MHz processor and operates on Windows XP as its Operating System. Little Island created this look-a-like robot doll with big memory storage in order to store more memory about the owner, i.e. speech and voice.

To get or order this small robot, prospective clients purchase it along with their pictures. Once the developer receives the pictures, they copy the image of the owner and replicate them in minute size.

This robot has a large memory and it can talk or engage in a discussion when things get boring for the owner. It can read RSS feeds, makes Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) calls and is capable to read the weather.

    Mini-Me Features:

    • Camera, speakers and microphones
    • 80 GB storage and 512MB RAM
    • Multiple servos and VOIP capable
    • Voice recognition and speech synthesize
    • Servomechanism
