NAGARA by Gifu
The Nagara robots are three small humanoid robots named after a river in Gifu Prefecture in Japan. The creation of the first robot of the series was in 2001 but development continued well after the said year. In 2004, Gifu created the last of the series, Nagara 3, which had a blue exoskeleton.
These robots were designed for human interaction, mainly as a playmate for children and as a lifestyle partner. The robots stand about 110cm tall and weigh 25kg. Each one has 29 degrees of freedom; 6 per arm and leg, 2 in the waist and neck, and 1 in the head. The robots have a battery life of 30 minutes.
