RoboWatch created a wheeled robot called OFRO, which is specifically suited for outdoor surveillance. It was created by the German company to be deployed in large outdoor areas to protect people, products, and facilities 24 hours a day, without getting affected by the weather.
This robot can determine what went wrong and what caused the alarm, and can evaluate the conditions. It can even take necessary steps, which are the basic requirements in today’s modern security concepts. These properties can be applied aptly, especially in remote areas where actual interventions from security forces or police are impossible or can involve great risk.
During the 2006 World Cup held in Berlin, FIFA contracted several OFRO robots to guard the stadium where the games were held. This shows that these robots are indeed effective in what they do.
