    Tohoku University in Japan released a humanoid dancing robot in 2005 that is able to share the dance floor with you: the Partner Ballroom Dance Robot (PBDR).  It has a female face modeled after Marilyn Monroe and stands 5 1/2 feet tall. It is made with a hard, cold mechanical skeleton and its upper body is equipped with sensors, allowing the robot to foresee its partner’s next step.
